GIVE:  to present voluntarily and without expecting compensation; bestow

Giving provides such an awesome feeling and I look forward to sharing the money we have not spent from our budget with our sponsor children, to buy animals and support a water project.  Plus we are dropping off used clothing to the Salvation Army and donating food to our local food bank.  I will have a breakdown once we have completed the 40 days.

This will be my last post until I provide an update as I will be off the grid for the next 9 days!

FASTING:

  1. to abstain from all food
  2. to eat only sparingly or of certain kinds of food, especially as a religious observance

There are a lot of different ways to fast:

  • complete abstinence from food and water
  • only water
  • juice
  • reduce how much you consume on a regular basis
  • 1 day, 3 days, 7 days, 30 days, 40 days

The choice is yours as long as you go about it the proper way – be safe.  Prayer and fasting go together so let God transform your life.

A Place at the Table – Day 29

BLESSING:

  1. the act or words of a person who blesses
  2. a special favor, mercy, or benefit
  3. a favor or gift bestowed by God, thereby bringing happiness
  4. the invoking of God’s favor upon a person
  5. praise; devotion; worship, especially grace said before a meal

Blessings come when you are obedient to God.  Be ready to accept them when God showers them down on you.

Count your blessings not your worries, heartache, troubles, problems, etc.  There is so much more to be thankful for than all that negativity.  “The Power of Positive Thinking” really does change the way a person views life.
