CONFESSION:  acknowledgment or disclosure of sin or sinfulness.

I love the words found in James 5:16,  “Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed.  The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.”

When you confess and get your sin out in to open, Satan can no longer hold that secret over you to cause guilt, or shame in your life.  No doubt he will try to bring it up again and again, your defence is Matthew 16:23, “Get behind me, Satan!  You are a stumbling block to me; you do not have in mind the concerns of God, but merely human concerns.” I like to say, “you do not have power over me anymore!”

After confession comes repentance…
